The Declaration of Characters' Rights
The Declaration of Characters’ Rights
We, the Characters of manuscripts unwritten and manuscripts written, do hereby declare Our Rights as ordained by Justice, that We may have Ourselves, Our words, and Our actions protected from the Writer.
1. The Writer shall know Us well before attempting to put words in Our mouths and breath in Our bodies.
2. The Writer shall grant Us freedom of speech, freedom of action, and freedom of feeling. We shall be allowed to love whom We will, to say what We will, and to tell Our stories as We will.
3. The Writer shall not abuse the gift of writing. The Writer shall not abuse Us past what contributes to the plot. The Writer shall not forget Our name or hair color throughout the story.
3.A: If the Writer does forget and Our name, hair color, personality, eye color, height, weight, general appearance, etc does change, then the Writer is to assume that the change is the truth and not what the Writer originally thought. We as the Characters will bring the truth out.
4. We reserve the right to add to or change this Declaration at any time without notice.
Signed,
The Characters.
Love it.
So true.
